SHN ACADEMY

Northwest Arkansas' original Homeschool Academy

In Fall of 2019, Social Homeschoolers Network began its Academy journey, offering academic instruction and extracurricular activities for homeschoolers. The SHN Academy is not a homeschool curriculum and does not replace homeschool instruction at home. Instead, it is a tool to be used with your normal homeschool routine. We started with a one full day Academy the First Semester and ended with over 800+ class registrations. We now offer one - two day Academy options that are completely flexible. You can choose one class, two classes, three or more! Membership is NOT required to enroll into Academy classes, however, as a extra membership perk, members get early enrollment and discounted pricing.

Our Fall 2022 Academy location for Monday Academy classes is at Grace Baptist Church in Rogers. This beautiful facility offers over 15 classroom spaces, a gym, huge fenced playground, beautiful commercial kitchen, amazing auditorium and much more. Class Enrollment for Members is set for Saturday, July 30th at midnight, and enrollment is available via our member only site. Class Enrollment for Non-Members is set for Thursday, August 4th at midnight. Non-Members can begin the enrollment process now but their classes will not be reviewed until after members enroll and will be reserved in order received.

Academy Classes

Our Academy Classes are taught by contracted educators with a goal to offer quality academic instruction. Some are retired public/private school teachers, experienced and college educated instructors, and local business owners. Explore our classes here:

Lunch & Recess

We offer a one-hour Lunch and Recess time. Students will bring their own packed lunch. We are a nut free facility and lunches must be nut free. Recess provides time for students to burn off energy and meet new friends. This time is fully supervised by our dedicated SHN Academy Staff.

Study Hall

Study Hall provides a quite supervised space for students to do schoolwork from home, read a book or do a quite activity. Students typically choose a study hall hour when there is not a class option that fits their needs or all classes that hour are full. This is not a time for socialization. Assistance with schoolwork will be available.

Staff & Safety

At SHN Academy, safety of our students is top priority.Securing our building and stationing SHN Academy staff with walkie talkies throughout the building ensures a safe Academy space for our students. All SHN staff and teachers have been background checked.

Monthly Payment Plan Options:
Total due is divided into four monthly payments:
1st payment is due during enrollment
2nd payment is due September 1st
3rd payment is due October 1st

4th payment is due November 1st

Pricing Example:

One SHN Member student attending Monday Academy, staying on campus full day from 9:00am - 2:00pm, attending 3 classes, 1 study hall and lunch would pay $560.00 for the full 14 weeks. If participating in the monthly payment plan, your monthly payment would be $140.00 per month.

Non-SHN Member Academy Enrollment

SHN Members enroll on the SHN Members site with their login.

Open Enrollment

Enrollment for Non-SHN Members will begin 5 days after Member enrollment. However, you can begin enrolling now and filling out your enrollment forms. Class Enrollment will be taken in order of received, and students will be placed in classes AFTER the 5 day SHN Member Enrollment period.

Our classes fill up fast so we highly suggest filling out your form asap.

Once you have an idea of which class options you want, you can complete your Enrollment form. Please note that filling out the Enrollment form is committing to the classes selected.

Fill out the Enrollment Form

On your class enrollment form, you will choose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd class option in case a class is full or cancelled. If your 1st choice is not available, we will automically enroll you into your 2nd option, and so on. By filling out this form you are committing to enrolling into the classes you have chosen. This is an "enrollment" form, not "interest" form.

Pay your Balance

Once we receive your completed enrollment form, we will email you a invoice to make your payment.

PLEASE NOTE:
All fees are NON-Refundable. Enrollment is a 14 week commitment. You will be required to pay your balance regardless if you are able to attend or not.
